OUR STORY
Founded in New York in 2013, Merchant Wine & Spirits Distributing (MWSD), formally known as California Wine Cellars (CWC) began with a simple mission to bring quality California wines from the West Coast to the East Coast. Our early portfolio was built through partnerships with vineyards across California’s most recognized wine regions, including Napa Valley, Sonoma, and Lodi.
As demand for international wines continued to grow, so did MWSD. In 2015, we began expanding beyond the United States, building a diverse portfolio from notable wine regions around the world, including, Bordeaux, France; Mendoza, Argentina; and Marlborough, New Zealand.
In 2024, we took the next step in our journey and expanded into Sake and Spirits including Vodka, Tequila, Whiskey, Soju, and Baijiu allowing us to offer our customers an increasingly diverse selection of products from producers around the world.
Today, MWSD proudly represents a diverse portfolio of wines and spirits that reflects the traditions, flavors, and craftsmanship of producers from around the world.

As we continue to grow our mission remains rooted in the same purpose to bridge the gap between producers and consumers, bringing diverse products from around the world to new markets and creating new experiences along the way.
